He starred in his first comedy special in 2006 entitled Katt Williams: Live: Let a Playa Play. Most notably, he appeared on BET's Comic View as Katt "In the Hat" Williams. By 1999, he had become an established comic, appearing on stage at the likes of The Improv, The Comedy Club, The Ice House, and The Hollywood Park Casino. He honed his comic delivery by performing his routine in clubs nationwide, from Oklahoma to Oakland. Williams started performing comedy in his Cincinnati neighborhood, Avondale. He emancipated himself from his parents at the age of 13, moved to Florida and supported himself as a street vendor. Williams was born Micah Williams on September 2, 1971, in Cincinnati, Ohio, and raised in Dayton, Ohio. In 2008, he voiced himself in the video game Grand Theft Auto IV. He played Money Mike in Friday After Next, had a stint on Wild 'n Out, portrayed Bobby Shaw in My Wife and Kids, provided the voice of A Pimp Named Slickback in The Boondocks and Seamus in Cats & Dogs: The Revenge of Kitty Galore, and portrayed Lord Have Mercy in Norbit. A few weeks late on MaWilliams was arrested for threatening to kill his bodyguard. The next day Williams was arrested on a misdemeanor battery for allegedly punching an employee at a pool supply store. On Williams and his entourage were accused of stealing cell phones. He avoided jail time by pleading no contest. In 2014 Williams and Suge Knight were arrested for stealing a photographer’s camera. One audience member from the California show filed a class action lawsuit against Williams to be compensated for the cost of his ticket. In addition to his arrests, Williams had to end two performances early in November of 2012 (just prior to his arrest in connection with the tour bus incident): the first after jumping off a stage in Denver to confront a heckler in the audience, and the second after being taken off stage by security in California, again for getting into it with a heckler.

He was arrested again in 2011 in conjunction with an assault on a tractor driver in Los Angeles according to NY Post, and again in 2012 for allegedly beating a man with a bottle on board his tour bus. In 2009, he was arrested and charged with burglary and criminal trespass after being accused of stealing money and jewelry from a home in Georgia. Katt Williams is said to have been arrested in 2006 when a stolen gun was found in his luggage at a Los Angeles airport, for which he was fined and sentenced to three years probation.
While we have no first hand knowledge of any of his alleged crimes, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution took it upon themselves to compile an entire list. Throughout his career, Katt Williams has had multiple run-ins with the police and court system. He has also had roles in movies such as “Friday After Next”, “Norbit”, and “First Sunday”. Other television shows he has had roles include “Wild n Out”, and “ My Wife and Kids”. In 2002, while he was still doing stand-up comedy, Katt Williams began his acting career in the television drama, “NYPD Blue”.
